Minted gold ingots at Argor-Heraeus are produced in much the same way that other forms of gold bullion are made. After the gold is melted down, in this case, it is poured into a prefabricated mold. From there, the raw gold bar is fed into a stamping press that strikes the raw gold bar to create a detailed form.
The minted ingot, after striking, has a defined shape with sharp, rigid edges and flat surfaces. Those surfaces have design elements and markings that are engraved onto the surfaces of the bar in 3D relief. Unlike most cast gold bars, minted gold ingots have designs on both sides of the finished product.
