The 2 oz British Silver Queen’s Beast Coin was introduced in 2016 when the series started. In so doing, the Royal Mint issued its first-ever 2 oz silver bullion coin. In total, 10 designs were issued with a single design in 2016 and 2021, and two designs per year from 2017 to 2020.
Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse of all British Silver Queen’s Beast Coins. Her Majesty features on each of these coins in the fifth-generation design from Jody Clark. This portrait shows the Queen in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown.
Various heraldic beasts feature on the reverse side of 2 oz Silver Queen’s Beast Coins. The series started in 2016 with the Lion of England design, while it concluded in 2021 with the White Greyhound of Richmond.
