In 1981, the Mexican Mint introduced the Mexican Gold Libertad Coin. The series was initially available in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz gold coins. However, the coins were not issued again until 1991, with production continuing until 1994. This time included 1/10 and 1/20 oz gold coins. The coins were not struck between 1995 and 1999, with another one-time issue in 2000 before another halt in 2001. Since 2002, however, the coins have been issued annually in all five weights.

All of the 2022 1 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coins in this product listing come to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are available with protective flips for individual coins and plastic tubes for multiples of 10 coins.

The obverse side of 2022 Mexican Gold Libertad Coins comes with the Mexican coat of arms. There are not just one, but 11 versions of the seal in total on this side of the coin. The modern coat of arms is at the center of the design field and features the powerful golden eagle in left-profile relief on a prickly pear cactus as it struggles with a serpent using its talons and beak to control the snake. Around this, you will see 10 historic versions of the same seal.

On the reverse face of the 2022 1 oz Gold Libertad Coin, you will find an image of Winged Victory. This figure is based on the statue at the top of the Mexican Independence Victory Column and it shows the female allegory in left-profile relief with a laurel wreath crown in her right hand, as well as broken chains in her left hand.
