These coins are produced at the oldest mint in the Americas, the Mexican Mint. Mexican Gold Libertads are some of the most diverse coins on the market. They have been released annually since 2002 in both gold and silver versions. In 2005, proof versions became available in both metals. They also release reverse proof strikes as well as antique versions of these coins. While there is no face value for these popular gold coins, they are backed by Banco de Mexico.

The bottom half of the design features laurel leaves tied together by a ribbon.
