In 1979, PAMP Suisse became the first refiner to develop minted ingots with intricate design elements. Fortuna was chosen as many of the mythologies behind this female figure are associated with prosperity. Fortuna’s origins can be traced back to ancient Roman religion and mythology. She was considered the goddess of fortune, luck, and fate. Her name is derived from the Latin word “fortuna,” which means “luck” or “chance.”
